What to get right before you buy, and the mistakes we help our clients avoid.
Power, HDMI and speaker cabling should be routed and left with slack behind the panel line. Cutting into a finished louver wall afterwards is visible and permanent.
Narrow flutes read as texture from across the room. Wide flutes read as a deliberate pattern. Look at a sample at the actual viewing distance, not in your hand.
High gloss acrylic scratches easily during installation. It should go up late in the job and keep its protective film on until the room is finished.
On an outer wall or anywhere humidity collects, use WPC rather than charcoal panels, because it will not swell.

Clear answers to the questions we hear most about decorative panels and surface materials.
They are typically a composite of bamboo charcoal and polymer, formed into fluted panels with a decorative surface. They are light, easy to cut and do not attract termites.
Yes, on a sound, level and dry plastered wall using pins and fixings. On an uneven wall, fix a batten frame first so the panels sit flat.
Acrylic gives a deeper, almost mirror finish and resists yellowing. Laminate is cheaper and more forgiving of scratches. For a television unit at eye level, acrylic looks noticeably better.
They diffuse sound slightly because the surface is not flat, but they are not acoustic treatment. Do not buy them expecting a measurable change in room acoustics.
The bracket must be fixed into the wall behind, not into the panel. Plan the bracket position and cut the panels around it, which is why wiring and bracket placement are decided first.
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth along the flute direction. Avoid solvents on acrylic, which will haze the surface permanently.
