Hobs and Cooktops at Saanchal Integrals

Our range, the brands behind it, and how we help you choose with confidence.

Our hob and cooktop range runs from two to five burner layouts in toughened glass and stainless steel, from Faber, Glen, Bosch, Blowhot, Beyond and Hafele, with built in ovens and accessories for kitchens that want them. Built in hobs and freestanding cooktops sit side by side in the showroom, so you can compare both before deciding whether the counter gets cut.

We help you choose on how you actually cook, not on the burner count. Tell us how many vessels go on at once and which dishes need high heat, and we will point you to the layouts that fit, and match the hob to the chimney if you are buying both.

A Buyer's Guide to Hobs and Cooktops

What to get right before you buy, and the mistakes we help our clients avoid.

Count the Pans, Not the Burners

Check whether all burners can take full sized vessels at once. Many five burner hobs cannot, because the outer burners sit too close to the edge.

Brass Burners for Daily Heavy Cooking

Brass holds up better to constant high flame and spillage than alloy. The price difference is small and the life difference is not.

Glass or Steel Is a Cleaning Decision

Glass wipes clean and looks better in a modular kitchen. Steel takes knocks better and will not crack if something heavy is dropped on it.

Confirm the Cut Out Before You Buy

A built in hob needs a specific cut out in the counter. Get the cut out dimension from the model you have chosen and give it to your fabricator before the slab is cut, not after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to the questions we hear most about hobs and cooktops.

What is the difference between a hob and a cooktop?

A hob is built into the counter and sits flush with it. A cooktop stands on the counter. A hob looks better and cleans easier, a cooktop needs no cutting of the slab and can be moved.

What size hob fits a standard kitchen counter?

A 60 cm four burner hob suits most flat kitchens. 75 cm and 90 cm need a deeper and longer counter run, so measure the free stretch before choosing.

Do I need to cut the granite for a hob?

Yes. A built in hob needs a cut out sized to the model. Get that dimension from us first so your fabricator cuts once.

Is auto ignition reliable over time?

Yes on mains powered auto ignition. Battery ignition works well too but the battery needs replacing every so often. Keep the ignition pins dry and clean and both last for years.

Can I use a hob with a piped gas connection?

Yes. Tell us it is piped gas when you order, because the burner jets differ between piped natural gas and cylinder LPG and need to be set correctly at installation.

Which brands do you stock for hobs?

Faber, Glen, Bosch, Blowhot, Beyond and Hafele, subject to current stock. Tell us your size and budget and we will show you what is in the shop against what can be brought in.
